The Japanese believe that beauty is more than skin deep, and that to be beautiful you have to be healthy too. The fantastic thing about this face massage is that it works on many levels at the same time, improving skin and muscle tone, lymph flow, circulation, and general appearance. Many of the techniques used can help to prevent lines, wrinkles, and puffiness – a natural facelift! Working on the neck, face and scalp, it is incredibly relaxing to receive, and after the treatment you are left energised as 7 of the 8 meridians that run through the face are the yang, or more energising meridians.

In addition, many of the tsubos have a specific beneficial effect on the appearance of the face. Using Camellia oil, which has been used for centuries in the East for its rejuvenating and revitalising properties, this beauty oil nourishes and deeply moisturises the skin.

In some circumstances this massage may not be appropriate – this includes pregnancy or recent procedures such as Botox. Please consult me if you are in any doubt. To benefit from the ‘face lift’ effects of this therapy a course of at least six treatments once a week is recommended.
