Thai Yoga Massage

Is a unique and powerful form of body work. It is stimulating, balancing, healing and relaxing. Thai Yoga combines yoga stretches with pressure work along energy channels of the body. The effective yoga-style treatment stretches lengthens and relaxes the limbs, spine and neck and increases joint mobility. Pressure is applied with thumbs, palms and feet along the sip sen: ten energy channels, to dissolve stuck energy and release blockages. Energy is encouraged to flow freely, nourishing the body and yielding deep therapeutic physical and emotional benefits. A longer session helps give a feeling of deep relaxation and tranquillity that is invaluable for today's stressful lifestyles. Traditional Thai Yoga is performed in 90- 120 minutes. We do offer 60 minutes if you have time constraints.

History of Thai Yoga Massage

It has its origins in Northern India around the time of the life of the historical Buddha more than 2500 years ago. Developed by Dr Jivaka Kumar Baccha, the physician to the local king, as a deep healing treatment. It is believed to have been transported with Buddhism to Thailand where the massage was developed with Chinese Medicine and practiced in Buddhist temples by monks. The massage incorporates spiritual values as it is the practical application of Metta – loving kindness - and is performed with a meditative focus in the present moment.
